We’ll head into Rocky Mountain National Park up the famous Trail Ridge Road known for its stunning alpine views (Trail Ridge Road is the highest continuous paved road in the United States).
Above tree line, we’ll venture out in this pristine place to one of our favorite snow teaching areas.
Your guide will cover the fundamentals of snow climbing including:
- Ice axe and crampon use
- Basic snow safety and snow climbing
- Roped climbing
- Ice axe self arrest
- Snow anchors and belays
This is an educational class and great for a family seeking to experience Rocky Mountain National Park in a unique way. It is also perfect for those wanting to gain snow climbing experience and to become more comfortable in the mountain environment. We tailor this class to the individual and group. It is often combined as a precursor for subsequent climbs with KMAC.
