Carissa fell in love with climbing as a kid at summer camp in Minnesota. After high school, she moved out to Bozeman, Montana for college in order to spend just as much time climbing as studying. After graduating with a degree in Outdoor Discipleship and completing her Single Pitch Instructor Certification, she began to guide rock climbing. After one summer guiding in Bozeman, and two summers guiding in South Dakota, she migrated further south to Estes Park, CO to join the KMAC team. During the winter, Carissa attends school in La Crosse, WI where she studies to become a Physical Therapist Assistant. When she is not rock climbing or studying, she can be found paddleboarding, ice climbing, reading, or weight lifting.
