People come from all over the world to hike and climb in Rocky Mountain National Park. If you’re new to hiking or are simply looking for a trail partner, let our experienced guides hike with you on one of the many high alpine trails in RMNP.There are endless opportunities for all ages and abilities. From all day hikes to the famous Longs Peak, there is something for everyone. We describe a few of the classics below. Please contact us and we’ll suggest an outing just right for you and your family or group.
LONGS PEAK: THE KEYHOLE ROUTE
It’s the highest summit in RMNP and right out our front door. We’ll get an “alpine start” and after several hours of hiking, we enter the historic Boulder Field region of the mountain, a huge flat basin surrounded by smaller peaks and snow fields. We’ll go through the “keyhole” and traverse around to the backside before entering the final “home stretch” to the top. Anyone who has ever climbed Longs Peak never forgets this experience. It’s the perfect adventure for individuals, small groups, and families.
While we encourage as much advanced notice as possible, this and other outings can be booked just prior to departure.
ANDREWS GLACIER CONTINENTAL DIVIDE TREK – A BEGINNER MOUNTAINEERS CLASSIC
Mountains and Glaciers! Spend the day with a KMAC guide as you complete one of the finest and most visually striking hiking loops in RMNP. We begin at Bear Lake and follow the trail to the top of “Flattop “mountain. Here, above tree line we’ll hike and head slightly south across the tundra of the high peaks. This is a very pristine and special place. We descend Andrews’s glacier and enter the famous glacier gorge with its high lakes and stunning views. We’ll complete this trek by late afternoon, feeling exhilarated by the terrain we have covered and proud of this unique accomplishment. Please contact us to book and schedule.
