Proudly from Boise Idaho, Roz grew up rafting, hiking, biking, and skiing, but knew nothing about the sport of climbing. When she moved to Colorado she discovered some plastic rocks at the Recreation Center of Colorado State University and from there progressed to exploring rock and ice of the great outdoors. She graduated with a Civil Engineering degree and became a ski instructor at Vail Resorts. In the Vail Valley, she picked up ice climbing and later worked leading glacier tours and assisting ice climbing trips on the Matanuska Glacier in Alaska. Roz values her climbing because of the new perspectives it has allowed. Climbing in Chamonix and the Verdon Gorge of France have cemented her passion for adventure. She has also climbed in Chile, Alaska, Yosemite, Montana, and Idaho. Roz loves learning about the world around her and sharing what she has learned with others. She strives to be a life long learner and teacher.
