This course is designed for youth who climb regularly, often on climbing teams, who want the chance to try some world class outdoor boulder problems. This course is special in the KMAC lineup, as we don’t only climb all day, we will teach skills, train, and focus on the process of “working” projects intelligently. Sleeping correctly, eating well, and focusing our minds will be the backbone of our time off of the rocks. World class problems abound in Chaos Canyon and other local zones, which are arguably the best summertime bouldering area in the US. Many students are members of comp teams and this week will provide valuable training, both mentally and physically, for the year ahead.

KMAC uses guides who are expert boulderers and are intimately familiar with Chaos Canyon and other local bouldering areas. Depending on group makeup and other factors, groups may go to sport climbing and other “roped climbing” venues.

During the camp KMAC guides will assist your training and develop your climbing in the following ways:

• Finger and tendon strength

• Stamina

• Injury prevention

• Nutrition

• Mental preparation

• “Intelligent projecting”

Don’t forget that coming to this camp with a friend is a great way to become life-long climbing partners. We encourage this. Learning together is fun and helps a great deal as material is presented that students can talk about and share at a later date.

Participants traveling by car should arrive at KMAC at 11:00AM on the course starting date. Pickup time is 11:00AM on the last day of the course. Additional airport pick up and drop off fees may apply.
